Eco-Church

You made [humans] rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas Psalm 8 v 6-8

We believe that caring for God’s wonderful, green earth is a fundamental part of being a Christian. The Bible is clear that we were put on Earth to care for it, and it is becoming increasingly clear that humanity has not done its best for the environment, evidenced by vast amounts of single-use plastic littering oceans and carbon footprints reaching new heights each year.

But we can also see that there are so many people passionate about fixing this, and we are so pleased to join other churches in the Diocese of Sheffield and across the country in the new EcoChurch scheme.

We have made a pledge that we will undertake, wherever possible, whichever path is the most environmentally friendly. From small everyday changes, such as fairtrade tea, coffee and biscuits, or switching to plastic free cleaning products, to larger projects, such as creating bee-friendly wild spaces within the grounds, and ensuring eco-friendly solutions within our upcoming building works.

We are so excited to see what we, as a church and as a community, can do to make our corner of the earth that much greener and welcome you to help us in our mission in any way you can!
